Meet Kirby Craig, founder of Kirby's Custom Carvings. From his workshop in the mountains of Big Bear Lake, Kirby hand-carves each Crown Jewel piece from pine salvaged from the September 2024 Line Fire burn scar in the San Bernardino mountains — shaping wood that survived the fire into heirlooms meant to last a lifetime.

Every board is individually hand-signed and finished in gold. No two are alike.

Created exclusively for the Between the Vines Collection, the Golden Signature Reclaimed Wildfire Charcuterie Board is one of only five Crown Jewel pieces hidden among the 100 Founder’s Boxes. Handcrafted by Kirby Craig of Kirby’s Custom Carvings in Big Bear Lake, CA, each board is made from reclaimed wildfire lumber — transforming scarred California wood into something beautiful, useful, and deeply meaningful.

Every board is individually hand-signed and carved in gold, making each piece a one-of-one keepsake. No two boards will be exactly alike. Each carries its own grain, markings, and story — a quiet reminder that even what has been through fire can become something worth gathering around.

Every piece begins with a single block of wood, sourced from the land itself. What follows is days of patient labor, carving, shaping, and finishing by hand.

Sourcing the wood

Reclaimed pine from the 2024 Line Fire burn scar — honoring wood that survived the fire and reclaiming it through craft.

Step 02

Carved by hand

Hand-shaped in Kirby's Big Bear workshop, guided by the wood's natural grain and live edge.

Step 03

Finished in gold

Hand-signed and finished in gold, sealed with a certificate of authenticity. No two alike.
