Who is Rustic Bakery?

Rustic Bakery started on a whim in 2005, with the search for the perfect sourdough flatbread cracker — something worthy of sitting beside great artisan cheese. When founders Carol LeValley and Josh Harris brought a sample to the celebrated cheesemakers at Cowgirl Creamery, the Cowgirls took one bite and ordered fifty cases on the spot.

Two decades later, everything is still baked by hand — now from a larger bakery in Sonoma County, alongside four beloved cafés in Marin County that grew out of that first little space behind a wine bar. The recipes stay simple, the ingredients local and organic wherever possible, and the mission unchanged: exceptional quality, made for the table.
