A Maison Within The Vault
LUZ Collection
Hand-blown glass, woven textiles, and beadwork — made by indigenous artists on their traditional lands across Mexico. From Los Angeles, with light.
Who is LUZ?
LUZ Collection was born from wanderlust and curiosity. Founded in 2015 by Chantale De Breceda — a fine artist turned shopkeeper who once crossed the US and Canada in a vegetable-oil-powered Volkswagen van — LUZ began as a small bookshop and gallery in Joshua Tree and grew into a life spent working hand-in-hand with indigenous artists across Mexico.
The daughter of an indigenous textile artist and a member of the Métis Nation, De Breceda brings her own heritage into every partnership. Each piece in the LUZ catalogue is shaped from natural materials — collected, grown, and harvested on the artists' traditional lands — using techniques passed down through generations, and guided by four quiet principles: respect, reciprocity, relevance, and responsibility.

"Every piece carries the light of the hands that made it."
